Within FIFA’s ticketing portal, finding where to transfer tickets is buried a few clicks deep and the navigation is not exactly obvious the first time through. But once you know where to go, the process itself is straightforward enough.
Transfer Ticket vs Guest Ticket
Before getting into the details of transfering, a quick distinction worth understanding:
- A ticket transfer is a full transfer of ownership to another FIFA account.
- With a transfer, the recipient owns the ticket outright and it moves completely out of your account.
- This is very relevant if you’re selling or buying on a third-party platform, splitting a group order with a friend, or just can’t attend anymore and want to hand the tickets off cleanly.
- This is different from a guest ticket, where you’re simply bringing someone into the stadium under your account.
- Note: if you’re all entering the stadium together, then the owner can keep the accounts under their FIFA ID (i.e. you do not have to assign your friend/family as a guest or transfer if all of you arrive together for scanning)
Transfers vs FIFA Resale Marketplace
Transfers are also completely separate from the resale marketplace.
When you resell through FIFA’s Marketplace, FIFA lists the ticket on the marketplace ticket portal and once purchased, they execute the transfer of ticket ownership as part of the sale. Reselling through FIFA’s Marketplace comes with a 15% resale facilitation fee deducted from your refund. Transferring to another person directly has no such fee.
However, if you are operating on a 3rd party marketplace (e.g. Stubhub, VividSeats, etc), this will require a transfer after purchase because it is not connected to FIFA.
How to Transfer Your Tickets
See below on how to transfer and/or watch this quick reel.
Before you start:
Your recipient needs an existing FIFA ticketing account. If the person does NOT have one, they’ll need to create one before they can finish the process to accept.
Execution Steps to Transfer
Start by logging into the FIFA ticketing portal at https://www.fifa.com/tickets.
This will take you two where you have to enter the portal in 2 Steps:
- Click Tickets when shown Tickets option and Hospitality Option
- Here, it may seem like nothing happened because you see Tickets and Hospitality but you will also see Marketplace. But for this section, you need to click Resell/Echange Now within Marketplace box.
(Or go to https://www.fifa.com/en/tournaments/mens/worldcup/canadamexicousa2026/tickets to get to where you click Marketplace directly)
At this point you’ll log into the FIFA portal with your FIFA username & password.
From the main menu (the three horizontal lines in the top left if on mobile), select Resell/Transfer Tickets.

This will bring you to the Manage Your Resale Tickets page.
Scroll down to find the match you want to transfer tickets for.

Select the tickets you want to send — you can use “Select All” if you’re transferring the full order — then tap Transfer Ticket(s) at the bottom of the screen.

A confirmation screen will pop up with some important fine print worth actually reading: transfers are final. That is, once the recipient accepts, neither party can cancel or reverse it.
When you’re ready, enter the recipient’s FIFA account email address and tap Transfer Ticket(s) to submit.
You’ll see a confirmation message letting you know the transfer has been initiated and the recipient has been notified by email. Note that the transfer is not complete until they accept it.
If you need to cancel before they accept the invitation, you can return to this page and tap Cancel All Ticket Transfer.
How to Accept Transferred Tickets
Before you start:
As a recipient you must have a FIFA ticketing account. If you do NOT have one, you’ll need to create one before you can finish the process to accept. Make sure the person sending you tickets sends it to this FIFA ID email to keep things simpler.
As the recipient, you will receive an email from FIFA titled “FIFA World Cup 26 — Transfer of Ticket(s)” to signal the person who is transferring you tickets has done their part. If you have not received the email then that person has yet to finish the process. This email’s goal is to walk you through the steps. However, there’s a couple minor elements that make this unnecessarily confusing so please see below.

Execution Steps to Accept
Once you see the email signifying you have tickets to receive, log into the FIFA ticketing portal at https://www.fifa.com/tickets.
Once logged in, the transfer request will be front and center on their My Homepage. You MAY have to go to your menu (the 3 horizontal lines at the top if you’re mobile) and hit “Homepage”
There will be a section labeled Accept Tickets Transferred to You showing the number of tickets waiting.

The recipient needs to acknowledge FIFA’s Terms of Sale, Terms of Use, Ticket Transfer and Resale Terms, and Stadium Code of Conduct before accepting.
Tap Accept, and it’s done.
A confirmation message confirms the tickets are now in their account, and they’ll be able to see the full ticket details under My Tickets.
Frequently Asked Questions: FIFA World Cup 2026 Ticket Transfers
Is there a fee to transfer tickets? No. Transferring tickets directly to another FIFA account is free. The 15% facilitation fee only applies if you list and sell through the FIFA Resale Marketplace. A peer-to-peer transfer costs nothing.
Does the recipient need a FIFA ticketing account? Yes, this is a hard requirement. The recipient must have an existing FIFA ticketing account before they can accept a transfer. If they don’t have one, they’ll need to create it at tickets.fifa.com first. Send them that heads up before you initiate the transfer.
Can I cancel a transfer after sending it? Yes, but only if the recipient hasn’t accepted yet. Once they accept, the transfer is final and cannot be reversed by either party. If you need to pull it back, go to Manage Your Resale Tickets and tap Cancel All Ticket Transfer before they accept.
Can I transfer just some of my tickets, or does it have to be the whole order? You can select individual tickets from an order. You don’t have to transfer all of them at once, which is useful if you’re splitting a group order across multiple people.
What’s the difference between a ticket transfer and a guest ticket? A transfer is a full handover of ownership. The tickets move out of your account entirely and into the recipient’s account. They now own them and manage them independently from that point. A guest ticket keeps the ticket in your account and links it to a guest for entry. If your plans or relationship with the other person are at all uncertain, understand which option you’re using before you act.
Can I transfer tickets to someone in another country? Generally yes, as long as both parties have FIFA ticketing accounts. The transfer itself is not geo-restricted. Keep in mind that certain ticket categories may have been purchased under country-specific sales windows, but the transfer mechanism itself works across accounts regardless of location.
